Good evening gang,

Been working on my tractor lately trying to get it set to hook up the snowblower on it. It was running pretty poorly since I bought it. Installed a new fuel filter, air filter, and just a few days ago we took the points off, cleaned and adjusted them. Tonight I reset the carb as per the service manual and it runs okay up until half to 3/4 throttle, then it starts to sputter. Plugs look alright, might change the fuel filter again since I ran all that old fuel through it. Any thoughts on anything else I should look at? Don't know how it'll run under load, I'll do more trial tests tomorrow. Carburetor was taken apart and cleaned a few days ago too.

I think you need to. Lean the mixture with the main jet screw . Turn the throttle up the whole way and turn the screw in until it smooths out.

Get Jim to stop putting monkey p in the tank.

Had you checked the govenor at all? As in the linkage might be out of adjustment. Had that happen on one.

We found the culprit. The points went back out of adjustment. We Re-set it, and tightened it really good. Furthermore I went and bought a new set of breaker points in case the originals fail again. Thanks for the input guys!

I should check mine too! Doesn't seem to be charging and it's starting to run rough. I've cleaned and set the carb and changed the air filter.
