Can anyone tell me a little about this Ride-a-matic? The owner claims it's a 3 1/2 HP 1957. I thought the Kohler was rated at 4 HP? Is it actually a 57? Thanks for any help.

Looks like a 56' to me but will let the others confirm. For once this one was painted close to factory colors , dosent look too bad!

The 56' Would have had the K90, rated at 3.6HP, the later K91's which were used in the later 200 series were badged as 4HP on the sticker but were still an actual 3.6HP

Would need the model number to determine the exact year since they made this for 3 years 56-58. Like Brian said it's a 3.6hp kohler

My '57 21HD-01 type does not have the breather thru the hood I also think it's a '56 and a very nice one at that . The '57 came with a Kohler k160 6.5 hp. Ride A Matic  '57 Super RAM and Deluxe '58 RAM

While trying to learn more, I see there are several differences between the 1956 (20HD-02) and 1957 (20HD-03) models.

Frames, steering gears, front axle, R.H. steering arm, some sprockets, some bearings, drag link, axle pivot pin, pin lock, and tie rod.

I have not been able to learn what those differences are.

Does anyone have a Parts Manual for the 1958 Model 200 RAM they can upload to the manuals forum?
