You might be better off getting an hmsk50 electric start. Than finding and old hh55. That's going to be tough

I would use an H50 or H60 snow blower block or complete engine minus the heater box over the carb. There the same physical size and they have recoil and the ring gear for the electric starter. They pop up all the time on ebay fairly cheap.

If you wanted to make a Suburban 400 out of it here's the thing you need.Kohler K91 with recoil start.Beautiful little engine but it's priced pretty darn high.

Don't let the 4hp scare you they have more torque than a 6hp tecumseh. And no other engine sounds like a Kohler.Nice deep throaty sounding compared to a tecumseh.

I had a suburban 400.very very cool little tractors.Mine was ROUGH lol.1/2 a hood rusted off,gas tank rusted out, transaxle badly cracked from water freezing in it all 4 tires shot and 2 rims rusted almost in 1/2.But the engine ran Awesome after a quick cleaning of the carb and points.
