I was wondering if anyone has a loader on either the duratrac or Troy Bilt GTX. (I have the GTX18) Specifically the part number 14066? I was wondering if someone has photos of how the subframe gets mounted and any dimensions on the subframe including the rod that goes through the middle. Does anyone know what is the displacement and the orientation of the pump that mounts to the front PTO? Or even just a simpler question which way does the front PTO spin? Thank you.

Thank you for the manual. I don't actually own the loader, but I am in the process of making my own. I got some ideas how I want to mount the loader to the frame but was hoping to understand how the OEM subframe mounts with close ups.

Cvans, do you got any pictures of how the johnson loader is mounted underneath and to the frame?

I wish I could draw something on CAD for you but I'm too old for that. Pretty simple really. If the storm isn't too bad tomorrow I'll try and get you some photos.

I made my own mounts. I wish I could draw something on CAD for you but I'm too old for that. Pretty simple really. Two 2 x 2 x 1/4" square tubes going across under the tractor. Each tube has two heavy tabs welded on it that just fits up inside the frame rails with a hole in each tab. These tabs are then bolted to the frame rails. These tubes extend out the sides far enough for the loader to bolt to and are strong enough to limit frame flexing when carrying loads. I've been using this combination since 2009 without any problems.

Your tractor with the power steering and foot controlled hydro will make a you an nice loader combination.

Thank you for the photos. They are very helpful. Did you have anything go back to the axle or are they bolted in the four spots along the frame? I assume you drilled new holes in the frame to bolt on to? Is that a spline coupler to the lovejoy connector? It is where the mower deck would attach for the pump correct? What size tires did you go up to? Are you still using the 23.5x10.5-12 in the rear?

Front tires went to 18" diameter from 16".

Nothing going back to the rear axles. So far it hasn't been any problem. I don't ram things though.

Too many years ago to remember if I needed to drill holes in the frame.

Yes it is a splined to Lovejoy adapter. I'm fortunate to have a lathe and other equipment to do these things.

The pump is hooked to the mid PTO shaft that would power the deck.

Still using the stock rear tires with good results.

I'm retired and this was my second diesel conversion project. Then added the loader. Before my back surgery this tractor did most of my lifting and has had a lot of use. Anything over 50 lbs is stilled moved around with the Bolens. I have larger equipment but this has grown to feel like an extension of myself and gets used far more than anything else. Just plain handy.

That's part of the reason I want to get a losder built. Lots of lugging heavy stuff that could be a lot easier using a loader. You don't have any clearance issues with the tires by going to the larger size right? Did you go with 4 or 6 ply? I was thinking about buying trailer tires and putting them on the front. What do you use for ballasting?

I had ballast in the tires but they started leaking so now just wheel weights. Eat more now before using it and it seems to work out about the same. :D

I had a little clearance issue with the front loader mount but it didn't take much to take care of that. I think they are 4 ply. There wasn't any clearance problems with the tractor itself.

Thank you for the help. I had a couple of last questions. On my Troy Bilt there is a power steering cylinder on the left side (from the drivers seat). How did you mount around that? Did you go from the inside up and use nothing on the outside? Is that the 4th picture down? Any pictures would be great. Thank you.

Here are some photos. Unfortunately It is hard to get photos that show much. I did remove the cylinder mount while installing this. Then I think I spaced the mount out from the frame to allow room for the loader mount. Please excuse the dirt as the pressure washer is put away for the winter.

This is looking straight down at the mount. It is between the cylinder mount and the hydraulic tube.

This is just to show that the cylinder mount has been spaced a small distance away from the frame.

I appreciate it. I got most of the parts I need to start to build a loader. Just missing the hydraulic hoses, the pump and a little bit of tge It is the subframe mounting that I was having the most initial trouble with. I am probably going to start a new thread with the build progress I am making on the loader. Just waiting for better whether to really get started mounting everything.
