Engaging PTO switch kills engine even with PTO wire disconnected at PTO clutch clutch runs fine when jumped from battery anyone experience this problem is it just a bad switch?

I've got two DuraTac's and neither one did that. Sounds like one of your safety switches is not functioning properly.

You might want to check the seat switch or a reverse direction switch, either one of those going bad can cause the engine to shut down when the PTO switch is turned on. Depends on whether or not your tractor is new enough to have this much safety stuff on it too.

They are new enough to have too many safety switches.  :mad2:
