For those of us who don't get to plow, can you explain how they judge these?

Hi Lilysdad

Some  rules as it applies to ploughing stubble

(   Throw out ,opening split )                                                   =15 points

               (feering,crown,or 8 tops)                                                        =30 points

( general work )  no weeds or stubble showing                     =30 points

( general ) all furrows of same standard must look the same =30 points

               (general)straightness of furrows                                             =30 points

(  In at the ends must start on the scratch mark)

( out at the ends  must finish on the scratch mark)

(The neater the ends the more points  )                                 = 15 points

( the finish must be straight level free from weeds or stubble =30 points

                                                                                     Total points        =190points

The nearer you are to 190 points the better chance you have of winning hope this helps a little bit judge the pictures and score the marks as you see them

I will look up the rules and post for all to see

George S

Hi All

Copy of rule as they apply to horticultural ploughing matches as we are new to most matches we have to abide to the local rules including points scoring and size of plots or rigs
