Anybody put 26's on there Duratrac/GTX20?  Any clearance problems?

Also, anybody know the bolt pattern of the rear wheels, ie,

or what might fit and what the off set should be?

I'm planning to put a larger dia ft tire on and would like to keep it level.

Dan

I believe WrenchinOnIt has 26x12-12 on his Duratrac with no clearance issues. Hopefully he'll chime in here with details.

Update

I found some discussion from WrenchinOnIt and he said they didn't fit,

and he has 25/24(something) x 12-12 on his Duratrac.

I also measured mine and it's 1 3/4 from the rubber to the bottom corner of the foot board, mighty tight with a 3" larger OD tire.

What to do??  I have a line on some 26's at a good price, but nowhere to put them. :(

http://gardentractor...9l#entry680025. Pretty sure I tried the Goodyear Softrac's off the 1669L and there was zero clearance. I had to change the fronts from 16's to 18's on the 1669L to level it out, you'd be looking at the same thing I would guess when you increase rear circumference substantially.

Good point! Here's a link that will help visualize on the three most popular ag choices.

If I remember, I'll measure the BKT 26X12's on Alice. They are on 8.5" wide wheels.

Thanks Guys,

The 18's on the front, yes, that is what is driving it. I'd like larger tires up front and need larger in back to level out.

The plan was to put 18 x 6 x 8 on, same width, just larger OD.

Not sure the tire brand, plan to go look at them Fri, will likely buy then and keep my fingers crossed.

26 x 12's on a 8.5 rim, doesn't that bow them in a lot?  This seems to be my biggest problem, finding reasonably priced 26 x 12 rims.

And of course with the right off set.

Not planning ag treads, as this is likely a grass machine. I may do a little back blading but mainly mowing.

Unless you're going off-roading with it, I don't understand the attraction of larger than stock tires. There is no advantage to it.

Ya, I know, but I just don't like the little tires up front.

I do take it into the back yard to mow a patch in the woods, and there are some "rough" areas of the yard,

but it's mainly the bug up my bxxx about little tires.

I'll blame my affliction of the "biggest tire that will fit" on being a teenager in the late '70's , Jack um up with re-arched springs and air shocks, mount em up and cruise
I never got over it so now my GT's get the same...

I've got 25x10.50-12 Carlisle All-Trails on my GTX-18 with no clearance issues.

Ya, 25's should be fine, 3/4" clearance if my numbers are any good.  That or 24's are likely what will end up on it.
