well i'm in a catch 22 I have a bolens h14 xl and well the motor was replaced with a oh 160 which runs beautiful has 130lbs of compression but maybe its me but doesn't seem to me have the torque of a kohler series engine so looking to maybe replace it with one down the road my point i'm getting to is measurement differences and motor mount bolt patterns if there the same or not and other stuff too is there a such thing is a dyno to test ratings on these? would like someone to chime in on the real differences
Tecumseh oh -160 and k341 kohler measurement differences?

Do you have your carb adjusted and cleaned ? Alot of power loss can come from the carburetor

well I can say this it runs perfect but then again the machine ways with the snow blower and me on it 1300lbs so I admit there is some weight going on there but what i'm really after is width of the kohler vs the Tecumseh now for the Tecumseh guys I have a question too will the HH 160 make more torque then the oh 160? i'm trying to understand these Tecumseh's best as I can man just wish there electrical components weren't s o expensive

I don't think the tecumseh has the trq. Because they have a shorter stroke than the kohler. They are ohv so the make more hp with shorter stroke and smaller bore. The oh160 is the same bore as a 12hp tecumseh hh120 Lhead
Yep, and the Kohler has more displacement than the Tecumseh at the same Hp rating. My buddy switch from pulling Tecumseh based tractors and switched to Kohler for more umph on the track.
