Hi I'm new to this sight I've picked up a sprywheel recently in nice original condition. I know a little bit about them but this one has a "hand clutch"!
I was wondering if anyone has ever seen one

I've seen a few of the ones with the clutch. They aren't as common as the non clutched ones. They were built towards the end of production.

I can just visualize one without the clutch. The operator trying to lift the front wheel while turning at the end of the row; all the while being drug through the potatoes.

That's why they called it Sprywheel. You had to be spry to operate it.
