Needed a set of engine tins for a briggs 18 twin I am putting in an allis chalmers 620. I went to the local tractor graveyard and found a craftsman gt18 with nice tins . The guy told me to take the whole complete motor for 30 dollars. He said it had a broken rod. So I took it home and took the sump off to inspect the block and crank. There was no broken rod. I put the sump back on and checked the compression. 130lbs. On each cylinder. So for the heck of it I put gas in it and it fired right up and ran really nice. I'm guessing he was mistaken this engine for a different one. So I got a good running twin for 30 dollars. Going to use this engine because it's in better shape than the one I was going to use. Good day!
