Was given this to me was told that line we all heard RAN When parked.4 years ago came with deck and nice set of 4 ag tires on the back fronts are shot and lots of rust!had a burnt fuse replaced it got it to turn over. But saw a little smoke from wire from fuse to coil were the 2 wires becomes 1 too the coil looks like they have some kind of resisters?? Is the right But one got toasted. So went. Wire to wire but keep blowing the fuse. But before that I did some good spark and now the wards won't turn off with the key I was hoping to put the scoop on the gilson wards came with front blade tiller but no drive shaft

Try downloading the manual from our Manuals Section. Some clear pics will help us to evaluate the problem. Offhand, I would suspect a shorting wire, possibly caused by mouse chewing. They do it to me alot. Good Luck, Rick

Both of your tractors are from the '70s.  Wards started with that body in about '76.  The Gilson is basically the same tractor with a different hood and twin cylinder engine, I would guess about '78.  I am guessing on the '78 because Wards models started using the twin engine about that time.
