10-30 for winter, 15-40 for summer or year around if kept in a heated area for the winter.

We've always sworn by Rotella in ANY diesel engine machinery we have..  I don't usually use it in the Winter but have always used 15-40W..  Depends on what your temperatures get to be in your area..

I run 15-40  all year around. Engines are heated before starting in the winter.

I suggested the 15w40 because that's what we run year around in all of our diesel tractors, and trucks as well with the exception of my new 3500 Dodge, I run 5w40 in that which would be another good choice for the winter, but not needed especially if your plugging it in.

propane1 lives in basically the same climate as I do. Oh yeah, I run Rotella as well for the most part.
