how many of you use your GT for your weekly mowing? i mow my 2 acres with my IH cub cadet 147 and 42 deck once a week and i mow across the street bi-weekly. these machines were made to work and that's what i do with them. i wouldnt own a tractor with the intention of it being a garage queen. i also run a qa42 blower on that same cub cadet and it handles all of my snow removal. i think the best part of owning one of these machines is the strength. they are a very strong tractor and very durable. i was in my tractor supply and i commented to someone on how the lawn tractors they sell are junky. i proceeded to comment that what i mow with is a 40 year old IH. woman said, oh one of those things that breaks down all of the time. i just laughed.

Use my Cub 109 since I sold my JD 116. Cuts great, just not as easy with a touchy hydro lever.

I use my Ariens GT18 all the time since I've gotten her. I don't have a snowblower for the front but when I do I will definitely have it out in that. For the snow I was using my father in-law's JD 322 with blower on it.

Yes, my 1974 Massey Ferguson with the restored deck does all my mowing. It does a great job too!

I don't mow with mine, can't make one good deck for a rare tractor out of 4 if I wanted to... they all have the same ailment, and it was a proprietary component. One of these days though, one of them.

I use my early 90's JD F525 for mowing;

Sometimes use the 71-110 or 83-420 for 'backup' mowers. The 83-420 gets the plowing & snow blading duties & the 74-112 does the tilling & snowblowing. ~~ grnspot

I mow with the 1985 GT6000, it does a good job. I do have a deck for the GT5000 and the SS12. I think I have enough parts to put one together for each of the kids tractor too.

I agree with the work for a living theory. None of them are prettied up yet and they all have their own "chores" to do. :D

I use a Craftsman PGT9000 and/or a push mower most of the time. However, since my Cub Cadet IH #1 tiller is down for the foreseeable future, I'll put the deck on my Cub 123 to work with it once in awhile. The tiller is in pieces, waiting for funds to purchase several bearings. It's getting a general overhaul/clean-up while it's down.

Might even put the deck on the Speedex 1631 to see how it does. I haven't used it in the couple of years I've had the tractor, but I did replace the blades and shear blocks. It needs a new belt and it'll be ready to go to work. The Speedex isn't the easiest thing to maneuver around the yard, but it would be fun to use in the back yard. It's almost 3/4 of an acre with no obstacles.

It's that dumb aluminum drive hub isn't it? My Springfield will mow but only at about 5"
