My son located this one, a 1982 444 Case, it had been owned by a local church and they had replaced it with a newer unit and wanted to sell it.

Nobody seemed to know much about it except that it had'nt run in about 4 or 5 yrs. It had suffered from neglect but obviously stored inside. The fuel tank had been removed, and I suppose on later inspection it was because it was running poorly and maybe they thought it was a fuel delivery problem, I don't really know.

Anyway, to make a long story short, $12 worth of parts and an afternoon of TLC and I mowed the yard with it. Not too bad I don't think. And, I almost forgot, a factory snow blade came with it...............LOL after I had built one for my other 444 last winter.......oh well..................

I'm going to have to build a bigger shop..........................:smile1:

I like it, but then again, I may be biased towards the brand due to my name. :D

You scored good. :D

Nice looking Case 444

It is addicting, we are going to be checking in to one of those metal carports with the enclosed sides to have additional storage so we can keep room in the garage to work on stuff.

Thanks guys, I thought I did OK. It does have some issues, the carb is shot, the engine needs a rebuild and the mower deck is pretty beat up (but saveable) But I thought what the heck, the engine alone even needing a rebuild is probably worth what I paid for it. This one is just going to be cleaned up and kept as an original condition machine.

Nice Case. It is in nice shape. It shouldn't take too much work to get it back in shape.
