Last week I had a friend ask me if I wanted a free craftsman mower. Couldn't turn down free, besides he said he would drop it off. This is what showed up. Its a 1994 LT4000 with a kohler 15.5 hp engine.

Good question. Probably something to do with marketing.

After getting the battery charged up and new fuel in the system I got it fired up and it runs good.

Yesterday I pulled the deck and pressure washed. The deck has some rust thru around the chute area, but looks repairable. The tractor cleaned up good. The paint has some light rust starting to show. Not sure if I will do anything there.

Not sure about the II also, I thought the Craftsman II had the 3 speed Hi/Lo tranny and 5 lug rear rims, The Craftsman has the 6 speed peerless and keyed hubs. Don't Know?

Good find though!

This Is my the second craftsman II. The first was a late 1991 silver/grey model. We also have a Green 1997 model, but it just says Craftsman.

Sorry to hear about the axle.

I don't post over here as often as I should, maybe I should start.

There is plenty of room, come on over. You can take olcowhand's chair, he went and got a job off the farm and doesn't use it as often.

Still smells like cowshit, however.
