I posted this in Bobs Lawn and Garden tractor forum but only received two replies. Posted in this forum to see if anyone can help.

I have a B&S 253707-0325-91072511 engine that someone changed to have a Walbro carb 5-4993.
The air cleaner assembly did not contain an air filter.  It doesn't have a bolt/nut to hold the top on either.  The top simply flips up.

Does anyone know what air filter goes into the assembly below?  I couldn't find a number on the piece either.

Measurements and  pictures are below.

Outside measurements are all in inches and are approximate.
3 3/16 right to left
7 9/16 up and down
at the bottom, left side, the narrow piece before the curve is 1 1/2
at the top, right side, from top to start of curve is 3 3/4

The inside is odd. It's divided into what looks like two separate compartments.  Does a foam filter go on one side and a paper element in the other?
The right side of the air cleaner is about 1 1/16 right to left and 1 3/8 deep
The left side of the air cleaner is about 2 right to left and 3/4 deep

See if this takes you to the engine operator manual.

There is an illustration there for the foam filter.

If nothing pans out, cut a piece of foam to fit tightly in the housing, oil it some and go. Ive even bought foam filters that were too big and cut to fit.

Ive looked in all my catalogs as a dealer and cannot find anything on this filter, I think its actually from a Tecumseh but cant quite find one to match those specs.

That air cleaner looks like it is for a vertical shaft engine and fits close to the shroud.

I finally found the filter. It's Briggs and Stratton part# 272922.
