I've been looking at valve spring compressors on amazon and ebay but i'm undecided on wich to buy. They run around 20 dollars for what i'm looking at. Let me know what you think. Thanks

I have always used a Briggs And Stratton 19063. It simple, works well. It holds the valve springs compressed quite well while fitting the  valve keeps. Runs about 35 bucks on amazon. Scored mine at a public auction for 12.  There are some non name brand copies on amazon. i'd imagine they work just as well.

The one that Dr. Bolens sells is the same as the one that I've been using for almost 40 years. It works well but, adjust the widths of the tongs carefully. The magnetic keeper tool is very helpfull too. Good Luck, Rick

The B&S #19063 spring compressor is the same as the tool in Bolens 1000's post.

I've been using one for over 50 years.  ....It is probably the best choice for small-engine work.

Be careful. --- I have seen some foreign-made compressors whose jaws were not heat-treated, and they were useless.

The ones I sell are from the same company that makes the B&S ones.
