I decided to vent the side panels using perforated metal.  Shot coat of primer for now.

20170604_191403.jpg 20170604_191447.jpg I also plumbed cold air intake.

A couple of rubber mounts added. I found the motor was deflecting too much and also cut down on vibration

I found the same thing happening and went to larger ISO mounts. People said that the 3 cylinders could be mounted solid. Didn't take long to get this one mounted on rubber. Talk about a full body vibrator.

20170616_061550.jpg  I stripped all the five layers of paint off of the tin... The original blue then red, white, pink and a brushed on blue.  I few hours with the wire wheel and chemical stripper.   Primed and painted a first coat.  Decals are ordered.  I'm looking forward to finished results.

With all the parts having all the same colors on them , at least you know they are all original to the tractor! what are you using for the paint? Rattle can or automotive type?

I'm using rattle can Krylon in Tru blue.  I start off with a rattle can high build primer.  The panels and the grill turned out really good, the hood was a different story,  After the I painted it the first time I wasn't happy with some of the imperfections so I filled them in with body filler,  When I went to paint it I guess the paint wasn't cured yet and is bubbled in some spots.  So I took it back down to steel were it bubbled and painted it again.  And the other day I mowed the lawn without any panels on the tractor and it ran 40 degrees F cooler than with all the panels installed.  So i decided to cut some of the grill openings than I welded on the hood and drill and cut four slots.  So.. it needs to be painted again but this time I'll wait for the paint to cure.  I'm also waiting for the decals to come in, once they are installed I like to clear coat over top of them.  Pictures will be posted when it all done.

I finally got it all painted, decals installed and assembled.  I'm happy with the results, the clear coat needs a bit of buffing but that's all in the details.  I installed some reflective noise insulation on the inside of all the panels.  It helps with the noise and the heat.20170703_161456.jpg 20170703_161519.jpg 20170703_161536.jpg 20170703_161536.jpg 20170703_161548.jpg 20170703_161602.jpg 20170703_161629.jpg 20170703_161646.jpg
