Hi all, heres my first walk behind, what did I buy ? it came with a pretty nifty plow with a cool adjuster, cultivators, disc and hiller attachments, has a model 9 briggs on it , 1949 from what I can tell, paid $100 can /$75 us thought that was a pretty good deal, but what is it, it has red, green, and white paint on it, sorry about the pics can someone rotate? ps please tell me how to do it thanks john

Congratulations that seems like a good deal. I've seen that brand before. Its handles will help identify it in our pictures gallery. Please add a clear couple of pics of the handles. Thanks, Rick

It's an Empire made in Windsor, Ontario.  It was their smallest model.  I don't know if the Briggs is original or not.  I know they came with an Iron Horse engine or a Briggs (smaller than model 9), but I haven't seen one with a model 9 on it. I'm sure that plow is also Empire, but from one of their larger models.  Again, who knows though.  Maybe at some point they used that plow with both models.  Regardless, it's an Empire, and I'd say a good find for the price.  If you follow this link to my website and click on the blue brochure, you will find pictures of your walk behind on page 8 of the brochure, I think it is.  http://www.oldironga...arden-tractors/
