found this for sale, would like to confirm what year it is.  Guy is asking $200 plus $100 for mower deck, which seems fare to me.  I know it's missing belt cover, but for $200 can't expect perfect.  Also wondering if engine is original?

Read the earlier thread on this one. BTW, I like the fare/fair pun.

The engine looks changed but still looks like the right motor.    The rear hitch is also looks messed up.   Most likely a 1956 but the modal will tell what it it really is.

Well for better or worse it's mine now.  I'll get the numbers off it later and report back.  The engine is the right model and the serial number puts it 1964 or earlier, it's six digits with no letters.  It looks like the recoil start may have been put on later, attaching screws nice and shiny.  The mower appears to be in very good condition except it needs belts and wheels at the minimum.  Can someone provide some information or pictures about type of wheels used?  It's also missing someway to turn engine off, there is a wire cut off coming out by points and plug wire, could this be it?  Hasn't run in years but does have lots of compression.  Any other comments or thoughts are welcome, I need all the information I can get.

It's a 20HD 02 and serial number is 32046.  I could also use a belt guard, bet winning lottery about the same odds as finding one for sale.

thanks for all the help

Your tractor is a 1956.   If you like I can date the engine to I just need the numbers.    Belt guard can be found it just takes time. I own A new old stock guard that I plan to have new one made from some day.
