With so many areas being overrun by big snakes, why didn't they just kill it? They said it looked damaged. Put it out of its misery. I hate copperheads and water moccasins, especially when I have to visit Louisiana.

Remember one thing guys,  PEOPLE are the intruders, not the snakes.  They did not get to where they are by their choice.  Put them back in their natural previous habitat and all is well.

No poisonous snakes around here.  Do have some nice Garter and Bull snakes though.  Usually catch 3 or 4 big Bull Snakes crossing the road in the spring and summer.  Bring them down to our buildings and let them control the mice.

Had 2-3 of those bastards drop from trees into the boat with me when I was a kid in NC. A friend of mine freaked when it happened to him and he shot a 12 ga, .00 buck hole in the bottom.

Bet that snake would have caught up to you guys whilest running away though.  If you wanna save it send it somewhere FARRRRRRRRRRRR away from people.  Be interesting to know how close it was living to civilization before it got swept in there.
