Anyone have info on this tractor? It looks like a Sears 6 speed transaxle, with high and low ranges. 16 hp Briggs. I want to say it is a roper built Moto Mower, 3pt looks very Sears like.

Guy wants $800 for it a snow blower chains and a mower, has 3pt on rear.

What's it worth? What should I look out for? image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Sears built but Roper Modified.I accually think that Roper bought a bunch of rolling chassis from Sears and built them. The Roper Group used there Grill,Hood,Fenders and engines.Basically the same as a 1973-76 Sears ST16 but with a cast iron Briggs engine in stead of the 16hp OHV Tecumseh engine.

Roper RT/16 or Roper T6328 16T

Price seems a bit high but if it runs PERFECT and the Deck and Blower Are in Perfect operating condition I could see making an offer somewhere close to his asking price.Somewhere between $600 and $800 I would be comfortable paying for it.

There a really good tractor If it doesn't need engine work.

...lucky ...I got an old roper made 10hp free...however only because two owners couldn't get it to run, and after I got it running I realised how expensive parts were and how much thy cannibalised from it........ugh.

Hell the market for garden tractors and motorcycles here is about well.........what you flush in the toilet since craigslist came about. "Bought it for 500 new from a very shady store, blew the engine, put $5 In stickers and Chinese parts....ask... DEMANDING arm leg soul and ten grand no low ballers because I have no idea the true value of my junk, will accept a trade of your home, first born son or your only vehicle. Meet up in a unlit back alley with the guy that looks strung out on drugs"
I know the feeling. Ive bought fixed and sold bikes ect for years and even selling WAAAAY lower than others I get haggled then find my bike resold under a much larger price than the actual value I went by per blue book or similar....you find a good parts seller advice is stick with em. Some Buyers are just as guilty as sellers in a sense because once they get away with selling for ridiculousness prices it becomes the acceptable thing regardless of worth.

I agree they are nice, but that one is a wee bit high. At least here.

Exceptionally capable machines, they will work with suburban style Sears, Roper (and now I learned some Moto... huh) attachments

The tractor as pictured has no weights, no top link on the 3 point, and that damn metal gas tank that will suddenly decide to leak on you someday. So far, I have yet to meet one that hasn't or doesn't.

I would say the tractor is 300-400 all day long with the 3 point. Extra 50 if he has the top link.
In great shape: the mower 100, the blower 150, up to you to decide if the chains are worth 50 to get it to $600-700
Unknowns: rear tires filled? With what. Saltwater will be a rim replacement someday.
If wheel weights, last two pair I bought for 35 per pair.

These prices aren't meant to deflate or inflate. They are based on what I spent on Sears, adjusting for condition as best I can. You will have to tweak from there for your market. As we've said before; location, location, location.
