I just picked this up today it is a manual lift and a good running little tractor. I do not know much about it or where to look to decode the serial number. Model number is gil-33130a and the serial number is 27X38416. It is kind of hard to read but I believe I got them correct. I am hoping someone can help me with getting some info on this little guy. Thank you in advance.

Our Gilson is negative ground.

It is somewhat funky though....The starter solenoid is insulated from the frame, thus not grounded. The safety switches have to be working properly making the circuit for the starter to work.

Our tractor is a S-14 H. I don't know that much about MW/Gilson to help on the model year of your tractor. Did you look at the manuals section here at GTT?

Good looking MW tractor. Like the wheel weights on it. I see it listed in this parts manual. If you find a model # on the deck, you may find it in here.

Thanks for the replies guys, I am pretty exited about it. He gave me the hitch for the back and an extra set of wheels with turf tires. I think for $200 bucks I did ok on it. I downloaded and printed that manual it will surely come in handy. I am going to do a good service on it and clean the deck out. The blades are pretty chunked and dull but I think that they will clean up good. The previous owner had it hooked up as a positive ground, so I will go through the wiring and see if its fried or needs things swapped around.

Be careful...lots of time there is a RED cable and a BLACK cable on the battery and the black is on the positive side and the red is on the negative side making a quick look at it and thinking Positive ground.

I  think I said what I thought I meant!

And then again, someone may have actually hooked it up as a positive ground.

You will like the center discharge mower. Works really good for yard cleanup with a pull behind sweeper. Looks like you have a pair of rear fenders for another tractor (S series Gilson style in MW color).

I took the mower deck off this evening and it looks to be rather neglected but in decent shape. The only issue I came across is one of the pulleys for the passenger outside blade is cracked. Is there anywhere I can find another one or purchase an equivalent?
