for our soon to be 6 yo granddaughter.  She is nuts about trains.  A historical train group has an old passenger train they run through the summer on an old track in central Iowa.  During October they have a Pumpkin Express on Saturdays.  About a 2 hour ride.  They back the train out, everyone gets off and picks out the pumpkin they want from the side of the tracks and then forward back in to town.  I got the tickets for the Granddaughter and her mom and grandma decided she wanted to go too.  Had a blast as you can see.

Great gift!

My son is crazy about trains too. I plan on taking him up to see the life size Thomas and Percy up in pa next summer.

That's a great idea to do, have a train ride. Looks like fun had by all. I miss the trains. Has not been any here in PEI since 1990. One use to go by our house, when I was young. Tracks were about 300' feet away.

My grandchildren also love the trains, we have a park in NJ called Allaire state park it was once a small self efficient foundry village in the 1800 hundreds that produced iron parts for steam ships and was later abandoned and than rediscovered. The old railway has been upgraded and has several steam locomotives and cars of the day The train runs spring thru fall.
