I've switched most of my home lighting to LED and loving it.  Better light than CFL, which I had mostly switched to before, and so much cheaper to use!  One example is my living room fixture.  Had three incand. 40watt bulbs, and with LED have more light and a total of 27 watts used instead of 120 watts.  Even those that were CFL now use even less power with LED.  My shop is all LED except 3 CFL along the far wall, which will soon be changed to LED also.  I've seen a distinct drop in my electric bill!

My daughter is assistant manger of commercial lighting for ED Supply, she gets us a great deal on bulbs and batteries, we are changing to LED as fast as we can. Great light, dirt cheap operation. Of course when we allsave electricity, they'll raise the rates, we're getting a big increase now.

Obama was determined to cram CFLs down our throats until someone pointed out to him that they make epileptics(and others) do funny things. Are there any side effects to LEDs?

I've been switching over too I like the instant light, nice and bright I found that 3 - 60watt equivalent bulbs gave off the same amount of light as 2 of the older 8ft fluorescent tubes.
