Started getting the bug a year ago and bought a H-16 to use for yard work. Heard it run and drove it on the trailer so figured it was good to go. Also picked up a deck for it and have questions about that...but first the hydro question. I was using it with a lawn sweeper last fall for it's first big job. After about 10-15 minutes it began to move slower and the engine was working harder to keep it moving. If I had to describe the symptom I'd say that the brakes were locking up on it...but they arent' even hooked upped near as I can tell. Anyone have any pointers on what to look for?

Glad to have you with us.

First, check the hydro fluid,to make sure it isn't low.
And you should probably change the filter, just in case it is partly plugged.
Are your drive belts loose?

Welcome,

Check the pump fins to be sure they are clean and that the cooling fan is intact. Sounds heat related or does it happen when cold?

It should be easy to see if the brake is sticking ,it just has one disk under the seat,on the right hand side.I would doubt it's the brake though.

Hopefully I'll get the shop cleaned and rearranged today and get it in there to look at.

By the way I did top off the hydro when we cleaned the carb to get it running right.

I can see that this site could be addicting...and cost me a LOT OF MONEY!!!

Thanks guys!

Wow we are practically neighbors! Thanks for the offer. Be a few days before I can even look at the tractor. Then if it ever stops raining I have hay to put up.
