Hello there, I have just joined your group and would very much appreciate some help on replacing a cutting belt on my recently purchased 40 odd year old 1010.
Firstly, what is the length of the belt ( I cannot seem to find a authentic replacement so if I knew the length, I can get any v belt).
Secondly, having tilted the miachine, there are two pulleys at the front.. does this mean there are 2 belts, one for each cutter?
If this is the case, I can only see one drive belt pulley!!
Can anyone please take pity on a numpty and give me some heads up?

Many thanks, Bob.

Welcome to GTT. There are a few of our members on your side of the pond that have those tractors. Do a search of our threads to find what has been posted. Check this page for manuals: http://gardentractor...ry/157-gutbrod/ . Please post some pics and be patient because those are rare tractors. Good Luck, Rick

The two pulleys under the front are to help the belt make the 90° transition from the motor pulley (vertical) back to the mower deck drive pulley. (horizontal)

Sweet Mary Mother of All, after looking at more pics I think the motor is vertical shaft. Belt goes around a pulley between the motor and the frame, out the front around the mule drive pulleys, and then back around both spindles on the deck.

If you have no belt, I would use a small diameter rope, grab a helper, and place it around the motor pulley, over the mule drive, and back around the deck pulleys. Pull tight, mark where the rope overlaps, and then measure. Then buy a belt from a store with a generous return policy.
