We got some good news last night, daughter got accepted into medical school, bad news is its out of country, I wont get to see my daughter, only the bills.  the school is affiliated with American hospitals so she will be doing her rotation in the states at least (still another country but I can at least drive there)

Big thumbs up to your daughter.  That is the first of several big steps ahead of her.

That's good to hear. Medical is a good field to get into. If she is good in her field she will never be out of work.

John,,, Congrates on the good news... On the other hand,, I'm sorry.. It's a part of the growing prosses, when the bird has to leave the nest.. It's hard on the parents and you will be fine. Phone calls and texts are a good way of keeping in contact.

Congratulations to all, her for being accepted and having parents who support her, and you for being able/willing to help. Not all parents can. You have planned well.

That's fantastic, congratulations to all involved!  Yeah, it's hard to see them leave but you just have to step back and let them spread their wings.  Just be there if they fall.  That's the best we can do.  I'll be going through this in probably another year.  My youngest is on track to complete her 4 year degree in three years and move on to the next step which probably won't be anywhere close.  What makes this even harder is she's still only 18.  So young.  Trouble is, while you sit there and worry, they feel like they can take on the world.  It ain't right.
