Agreed. Asking about 7 times more than a reasonable ask.

This one for sale looks to be in nice condition overall. Drop the extra 0 and you may have something.

The ad said it was a "lean" mower, so that is special!

Yeah, pretty much hopes and dreams at that price. I remember there had been one that was on and off of Ebay for a while at a ridiculous asking price but I'd be interested to know how they came up with the price for this one regardless. A listing price is one thing, a selling price is another. Not to degrade the A.J. Foyt theme in any way, but if it had some actual differences other than appearance like a real 'high performance engine' that would certainly up the ante a little. Either they're the original owner and the date they predicted long ago that it would be worth a fortune has finally arrived (highly unlikely), or, they bought it last spring for $700 with hopes and dreams that someone would pay another 0- after they put an extra 20hrs over this summer using & abusing it for yard work. Either way, a wasted effort and I agree, for $7k, I want a picture of it waxed up to the nine on a wet stone driveway next a Mercedes and not sitting in your backyard covered in dust and grass after having just been used like any other LT. That in itself makes the whole thing even more unrealistic.

If you guys think thats nuts, I know of a dealer who has a NOS one he's selling for $40,000! Not joking!
Surprisingly it has been for sale for many years
must be a complete idiot if he thinks someone would pay 40k, no one on this planet would want one of these.

There is another one on Kijiji, around Belleville Ontario if I remember right, also for a ridiculous price. For such rare collectible machines, there seem to be a lot of them available for sale.
Jim
Edit: DH1 beat me to it, but at least I remembered it was near Belleville.

He had it on ebay about 4 years ago with buy it now or best offer, he was getting alot of $3,000 offers and one guy offered $7500 which I think he was insane for turning down.
But on the other hand maybe he just likes to say he has it and puts a crazy number on it so no one buys it, but it is still talked about.
I know thats what I do with my stuff, I display a couple items at a local dealer and put a crazy price of $1200 on the Bolens saw so no one buys it when they ask how much LOL
