I opened every fill up hole in the transimission and it all had ATF in it. Now what i need to know if whatt should be in the actually axel? and how do i put it in it? Also i never know there were battery boxes or tops could someone post a picture of theres so i could see what it looks like? thaks so much. Ill post a picture of my tractor if you want

There is a parts manual for a 140 in the Ford manuals section. Hope that helps.

first off i am guessing your 140 is a hydrostatic drive and i am guessing that your 140 looks sort of like ford maverickdudes ford with a hood the narrows to the front , if so then there should be a fill plug under the seat for the hydro gear and theres two plugs on the differential , one to drain the unit and one farther up to fill the unit , the differential takes 90w gear oil and the hydro gear takes type A atf
