Just wondering the main differences in the G14 and the 1556 ..

Did the G14s come in Hydro.??   Anyone have a pic of a Hydro for those models .?   I'm thinking they were the Eaton 11s   A'm I correct.??   It kinda has a more square look to it than my Eaton 12 on my lg. frame..

I went to the manual section with no luck...  I went to the gallery sec. with no luck..  Thanks in advance       sodi...

The G14 is a geardrive tractor no hydro. The H14 is a hydro and uses a eaton 10 same as the 1556.

The G14 has six speeds three hi and three low. The 1556 is a hydrostatic. The G14 has manual lift and the 1556 has hydraulic lift. That would be the biggest difference between the two. Both are great tractors it's a matter of preference as to if you like gear driven or hydrostatic driven. The H14 is the same as the G14 in engine size but the H14 is the hydrostatic version of the G14. I attached a picture of my G14 and my 1556 so that you can see the difference. If you look very close you will see the hydrostatic foot pedal on the 1556 and you will see just a foot rest on the G14.

The 1556 and the H16 are nearly identical tractors with minor variations on how the hood is latched down and the hyrdrostatic filter plumbing.  H14 is also very close.  The Tecumseh engine in the 1556 and H16 are identical.  The claim is that 1 addtional HP was gained in the H16 through carbureator tuning.

I like the paint scheme on the 1556 a little more than the white and black of the H16.  Also, I believe the sheet metal gauge on the 1556 seems to be slightly thicker.
