That is a really sad story, When ever I see anyone using a mower, they never turn the blades off when some one walks past or drives past in a vehicle. I always turn off the blades when mowing the ditches so the mower doesn't throw a rock into the car and damage the car or injure anyone in the vehicle. I grew up with very strict rules when it comes to mowers. When my dad was in his early teens he lost a eye when he was mowing with a push mower due to the mower throwing a piece of wire. We always had to wear safety glasses when mowing with a rider or push and the same went for line trimmers. We also could never be outside when someone was mowing, I still stick to these same rules now I am 26 and I think everyone needs to take more precautions.
