The Evinrude walk behind belongs to fellow forum member, cheapjunk.  He had this along with a vintage Lawn boy reel mower on steel at Susquehanna Old Fashioned Field Days this weekend.  He did not realize when he brought the mower that it was also made by Evinrude.  And we found another Evinrude at the show working at making ice cream.  The ice cream power plant was in use by some Amish there making ice cream and selling other goodies.

More info on the mower in the Lawn Mower Forum.

The tractor is a Merry Garden tractor, they used a 1HP Evinrude outboard type engine with either a flywheel magneto or a chain drive rotary mag. The mower is an early Lawn-Boy with a Johnson Iron Horse engine.

Rusty is right. The Merry Garden was built by the Atlantic Mill and Mach. Co of Cleveland OH. They just used the Evinrude engine. They were the predecessor to the Federal garden tractor.

This one has a chain drive magneto.  Here is another photo taken at the owners place.

Many years ago Jim C. did a great series on Ole Evinrude in the VGTCOA newsletter.  I wished I had kept it and if I did I wish I could find it.
