So first off, I'm new to the forums as maybe be obvious in this post. Now I'm 16 and really into the whole four wheeler type thing, but after watching the Fearlessfront YouTube channel I've made my own off-road mower, or at least started. I've parted two other mowers into it to make it run and drive through a good foot of water. Picking up the last parts tractor my dad spotted an old Allis Chalmers 716h and had to have it. The back story we got on it was the guy had bought it, used it twice and parked it in a shed for 8 years. Now I'm just assuming it's a 716h cause it's hydrostatic but doesn't actually have the 'h' on it, and no idea if it should. We also learned my uncle was after it for some time (hehe). So upon buying it and getting it home we researched and found it had been "restored". The original Kohler k341 had been swapped out for a 14 - 16 hp briggs and straton. I also found the model was made between 1974 and 1979. Is there any way to determine the exact year it was made within that 5 year production range?

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure others will be along shortly that know much more about what you have than I do and will be glad to help.

These guys are incorrigable.
Is there a model /serial number tag anywhere on the machine?

Also, pictures of the unit would be a big help to be able to let the AC/Simplicity guys see the little things.
