I picked this up yesterday for $40.00.

The 15 hp kohler runs and will probably get transplanted into my 682.  I've been looking for a Magnum twin to replace the blown KT.

It is a little smaller than I wanted  but the price was right.    I'll be keeping the hydraulics and may fit them on the 682 also.

The tires/wheels and the transaxle will get set aside for future use.        Rick

Use the carb from the 682 and you'll have a mag18.  The only difference between the 15 and 18 is the carb.

I did not know that.   Thank you!   I feel a lot better about installing it now.         Rick

The later 1541's also used the CV type drive line but the early ones used the rag joint system. I can't tell what you have from the pics but you may want to slide the complete rear and drive shaft up in the 682 if it has the CV driveline.

The drive shaft was missing.   I've already replaced the cv on the engine with the 682 rag joint.

The po said he swapped trans/axle and didn't tighten the pump end of the driveshaft.  He shattered the fan and punctured the filter. I don't  know what damage was done to the driveshaft and cv joint as he couldn't find them.  Hopefully he will drop them off sometime.   I don't know if there is any problem with the trans/axle.  If nothing else I'll keep it just for the valves.

The engine ran and that was my main concern.   I have it in place in the 682.  I need to figure out the wiring, and replace the carb with the  one from an 18 hp  magnum that was in the 682.  I'm also going to use an electric fuel pump.        Rick
