Looking for some info on the hydro unit in my 116. Tractor data says it's an Eaton unit but I'm curious as to the strength of it.
I'm building for next year (if I don't buy the 430) a tow behind mower with the spare 48 deck I have. Just wondering if the lx188 is a better tow machine or the 116H.

lx188 Has a Tuff torque K61 transaxle.I would not pull much more than a pull behind Lawn sweeper or small garden cart with it.

Not sure about the Eaton in the 116H.

I think there an Eaton 11 pump? There pretty stout and will last a long time if ya keep them Clean, cool and fresh clean fluid in them.

Compared to the modern L/LA/D series deeres the k61 seems pretty stout.
I know in my test drive at ~half throttle it did not whine or struggle going up the ditch bank, but either does the 188.

I have had and still have a few 116 and 111 hydros and 175 185's all same hydro and in my opinion I would not pull any thing more than a yard cart,i do not like them, I have replaced a few that went bad and its no fun,i also had a lx188 and is much stronger and better all around,i personally like the 111 116 gear shift models, they take a lot more use.
