Actually, not. It's Ethyl, not Ethanol... Made me look twice tho.
This was an anti-knock additive in leaded gas

I think you are right!

Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most!

I loved the names for premium gas back in the day. My Mom had a new 327 '63 Impala that required it. I still remember pulling up to the neighborhood Phillips 66 station and her telling the attendant to "Fill it up with Flight Fuel"!

In NC growing up, it was "high test", in California it was "ethyl", in Maryland it was premium.
