Just use a pick to grab & roll out the old one, then use a smooth rod or any small diameter smooth object to roll a new o-ring into place.

Where is the silly thing??
I look into the coupler on the front of the tractor and I don't see one. Is it hidden?

Just ahead of the check ball about 1/8" or so from the check ball seat on the perimeter.  Below is a youtube video showing replacing o-rings in a pressure washer, which is basically the same.
