"Dress that line, soldier."

"You will report to the stables tonight and every night at 1900 hours. And without that pledge pin!

DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?

You're all a damn disgrace. Now drop and give me 20."

If any of you that were in the military can think back about 40 - 50 years you will know the situation.  Full dress uniform, 90°, and the officer doing the inspection is an hour late.  Haven't quite mastered the trick to standing at attention for long periods of time.  If the person next to you starts going down you better let him drop or you would be in worse trouble than he was.  Medics?   No where around and wasn't needed.

His emmence westmoreland(a mac arthur clone) was often late for his "morale boosting"visits. Many heatstrokes because of him. Damned poor leadership on all levels. Our BN CO pushed us way too hard one particulary bad day in NC. 25 heatstrokes, no more BN CO.  Sometimes there was a bit of justice.

First recorded "face down" demonstration for PETA. Should you really be wearing a dead bear on your head?

One young soldier stood at the ready

But from waiting in the heat became rather unsteady

He fell out to the rear and landed on his back

For this unfortunate action he may get the sack

From his superior who rides in comfort on a horse named Neddy
