MF# 1041 222 M91   Mower deck spindle shaft.  MF16 tractor, MF510 mower.  Anyone know where I can get a shaft?  Thanks, Bill.

Bill-I may have one, but I may not know until tomorrow. I have the remains of a deck off of a MF510 deck but cannot remember if I pulled all the shafts off of it or not. Ted

Esbbent, Thanks, and it's the outboard shaft that I'm needing, not the center.  Also need the pulley too, if you might have that.  Thanks, Bill.

Bill, I do have the shaft with the pulley still in the deck. I am going to try to remove it tomorrow. My concern is as rusty as the deck is i may have to cut the pulley to remove  the shaft and housing from the deck.   Ted

Ted,  that's great, and understand about the possibility of the pulley getting destroyed, but of course I hope that it makes it through!  The good news is that although the shaft was discontinued way back in 1986, the pulley is still available, although they are rather proud of a new pulley.  Bill

Just occurred to me...if it's easier for you...just leave the pulley attached, remove the blade and the 6 quarter inch bolts that attach the spindle housing to the deck (the bolts will probably break right off but that's OK), and then the whole assembly should come off.  I would buy the whole assembly from you if that works better.  I've got an acytelene torch here that I could heat the pulley with to remove latter.

Bill, all three spindles are out of the deck. For some reason I thought the pulley's had to come off for removal :wallbanging: , must have been thinking of a different deck. Ill send you a pm.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes, but did you end up making a deal on a replacement shaft? if needed I can machine you a new one.

Gitrdun, thank you for the offer but I did in fact take the shaft from Ted. Good to know that you can machine stuff though, I'll keep that in mind. Looking for a competent machinist would have been my next route had it not been for Ted having a shaft.
