My dad has a 48 farmall cub, rated at 10hp. Granted, its heavier and im sure geared different then a garden tractor, but i know foe a fact itll pull circles around any modern garden "tractor" with 20-25hp.

Guess new horses are lazy? :/ lol

A Cub was 10hp at the belt pulley.  Gotta remember the power loss through the drivetrain on farm tractors.  The engine hp on a Cub is higher than 10.  Power equipment engines are rated by engine hp not pto or belt.  Farm tractors of yesteryear were rated by belt hp before they started rating them for pto hp.  Newer farm tractors are rated by engine hp.

Guess i didnt think about parasitic drivetrain loss. Lol.

Ok, another question, what exactly is "drawbar pull"? Im guessing its how many lbs of force the tractor is capable of exerting?

... How about decelerating or braking? That's another load on the trans.

I don't know about the other brands, but the multi cylinder Bolens large frame tractors have a pair of disk brakes on the rear. :D :D :D
