Will a 48" mower deck off a 1455 fit on an 1886?

According to a Bolens attachment interchange list, 18048 and 18049 (48") Rotary mowers will not fit the 1886 tractors.

However, an 18049-04 (48") Rotary mower will fit on an 1886 tractor.

Large-frame guru's will have to explain the differences.

The hangers and driveshaft that are different due to the different frame lengths.  To use your 1455 deck on the 1886, you'll need the hangers and driveshaft from the 1886.

I was researching this same thing a while ago and while I did not come up with a definitive answer, it sounds like the hangers off a 54" and the longer drive shaft *should* be adaptable to make the smaller 48" deck work on the 1886. Keep us posted if you do go this route!
