True-cut, has drive clutch akin to DB walk behind, very heavy and over built, has grease fittings on every thing (two on each reel shaft Bearings) it looks to be ready to go except for the carb

The owner doesn't have to worry about getting stuck with those duals.

Would you mind posting the info from the manufacturer's plate (if there is one)?

I am curious to who owned Tru-Cut at the time your mower was built.

Starlite was the original company, which was purchased by McDonough Power Equipment in 1969.

McDonough made the Snapper line of mowers and the reels were know as Snapper Tru-Cut.

McDonough Power Equipment was purchased by Fuqua Industries, and the Tru-Cut line was sold to someone else.

Thanks for the additional info !

Since your 5hp B&S was built in November, 1968, and McDonough acquired Starlite in 1969, your mower was most likely built in 1969.
