When I went to shave Sunday morning, I notices my right eye was "bloodshot". I knew of no reason for it, but it didn't feel quite right, didn't hurt, just not right. Called my Opthemologist's office this morning as soon as they opened, he was not going to be available today so I got an appointment at his associate's office an hour from home. When she checked it, she asked if I'd had any severe strain, strong sneeze, cough or heavy lifting? Saturday, I had replace a water lily in the back fish pond, the bushel tub it's planted in was a long reach & heavy, so it was probably the cause of a burst blood vesel in my eye. Fortunately, nothing serious! Just some "lubricant" eye drops & no heavy lifting for a while.

Just posting this to show what can happen! Be careful out there! ~~ grnspot

I had almost the entire white of my eye completely blood shot....solid red when I awoke one morning. Did nothing to it, did it on it's own, other than I possibly lifted something heavy like you. Took several days to return to normal.

Get prepared as the years pass by Casey. All sorts of weird stuff befalls you as the years get tacked on!

What Daniel said! I had an optical migraine last year. I thought I was having a stroke. I work at a hospital and went straight to emergency. It was over by the time I got there. I had never had anything like that before. I've had one since and I just powered through it. Once you know what is going on it is a lot easier to deal with. You did the right thing getting it checked out ASAP. We all need to respect our bodies limitations as we get older.

Several years ago I contracted the worst cold I remember cough wise. Doctor said it was going around and not to weird out when you cough hard enough to burst a blood vessel in your eye or sinus cavity. I looked at him like he was nut, but a few days later, wa-lah! A red eye. He did tell me if my vision blurred to go straight to the ER, no questions...

Hope the heal up is quick. Remember, no heavy lifting.

I've had those optical migraines too. Nobody can tell me why. Have not had a burst blood vessel in my eye (yet) and hope I never do. I trust yours will clear up soon.

Here's hoping you have a quick recovery greenspot110! One of my co-workers had that happen a few years back...in both eyes! His was from excessive alcohol consumption though, or more precisely, the body's attempt to expel the excess.

Glad it wasn't anything too serious. It is amazing what the smallest wrong move can do and you don't even realize you do it. Hopefully the redness goes away soon for you.

Maybe it is time to buy a red tractor so it would be less noticeable? :D

I also have optical migranes. I understand from my Dr. that some people have have a terrible headache with theirs, but fortunately I don't. I just get these multicolored zig-zags that float around and can be seen with my eyes open or shut. The first time or two, I thought it had had to do with things I had done in the past, but thankfully it wasn't. I will have to my sure the guys that work for me don't see this, they won't want to pick-up anything over 5 pounds.LOL (One guy says to the other- man I busted my EYE today!)

Couldn't do that, then I'd be sick all the time! :puke2::rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

The redness is spreading out now, probably take a few days to clear up. Doesn't bother me, just hard to remember to put in the drops every two hours! :confuse:

Gtractor, they're only 1-1/2 miles away! :D

Went through a period of migraines several years ago, fortunately not frequent! They can be hard to deal with! :( ~~ grnspot
