Thats the main issue, must have been like that for years as its real sloppy and you would have to make the threads about 2X bigger than OEM.

If all else is good, a bushing with oversize threads on the outside, with correct threads on the inside, could maybe save the carb ???

Here is the filter I have. It's one of the clear ones.Little warped but it will clean up good.

I have 2 others the same size but the one is all metal on a little Briggs WI that I'm slowly working on and the Green plastic one with metal top on my Sickle Mower.

Let me know if ya want it.Pay for shipping and it's yours.$10 would be more than enough.

I wouldn't think it would've that popular of attachment. I'm sure there's some out there but back then who would really want to take off tiller tines to cut some grass. I'm sure most people at least had a push mower of some kind.

Took photos and measurements of the decals today, project got placed on the back burner until I can find an OEM air cleaner and left hand tines, I found NOS right hand tines already. If anyone has 1711416 tines let me know!

Should be fun to use in the garden until I can scrounge up the parts for the restoration :D

Now I need to pick another project since it may be a while hunting parts for this one, 1958 ride-a-matic or Gold 600   hmm...... :D

I have plenty of projects! Come on over!  :poke:

If you don't want to come help me, I'd go with the 600.

Found a carb and air cleaner for my Mustang.   Got lucky looking through a box of parts my Grandfather had for small engines and what do you know I found the Clear bottom air filter assembly I needed!!! :bounce:

Restoration on Hold until I can find tines , maybe try this in the garden until then :D

These tillers were also multi purpose and had a wheel kit available to power a reel mower, lawn roller , lawn cart and a few other things,.
