I just got a Satoh Beaver 2 cyl. Diesel. All I have read say that they start hard in cold weather. Dose anyone run Rotella 5W-40 synthetic in thes older diesel? Thanks

I run AMSOIL 5W-40 in my Ford LGT14D.
The lower viscosity (5W) and being a full synthetic are huge in extreme weather conditions. Especially cold weather.
Use a fuel addition to reduce your cloud point in the fuel to prevent gelling and keep your fuel system clean with an injector clean.
Also, use a Cetane boost to help the fuel burn properly and you should have no problems starting your diesel up in the winter.
