i just bought 10 rebuilt voltage regulators from a yard sale for 20 bucks. i am looking for one for my m/g 16hp tractor.the thing it they have batt - gen - and a (f). and no (L). anybody know anything? also there is 8 different part numbers

There are "A" circuit regulators and "B" circuit regulators.  .....To know which type of regulator you need, you have to know how your generator is configured.   .....This is explained in the link.

 

Then, you have to figure out which type of regulators you have.

I think that I remember Maremont in the early 70s when I worked an Auto Parts Store. They had all kinds of rebuilt components and were half the price of new. We got them from a warehouse in NY. I don't remember any problems with them so, you got a heck of a deal. Use the Delco numbers to figure out what they go to(or can be adapted to). Good Luck, Rick

thanks, i did figure out they are 3 unit regulators so far. the estate sale was from a man who run 7 service stations in the 50s-60s.i did find delco numbers, all are a circuit regulators.

does anyone know if the generator on a 16 hp 1972 model briggs is an a or b circuit?
