One of our local churches has a classic car show in late August each year. Last year there was over 160 cars. It is a nice, intimate get together before, our big fairs dominate the next month.

The Corvette is a 63 Split Window. The yellow hotrod belongs to a friend who survived a heart attack earlier this year. If I wasn't playing with GTs, I'd be playing with my 55 to 59 Chevies, Good Luck, Rick

Thank you Boyscout!

63 Shivey as my buddy, the big Dodge guy calls em LOL, is my favorite! I'll never own one, cause it's far, and beyond my wildest budget, but, MAYBE it helps me respect those good-ol-rides just a lil more!

The sky IS the limit:)

The guy said that he has owned it for 50 years and it was restored in the 80s. I thought that it was the most significant car there but the coffin nosed Cord was a close second. Good Luck, Rick

Cant say I dissagree, as both are very nice cars.

I have always wanted a 63 Vette, or 58 Impala since a young-en, and they hold top priority in my thoughts.....as far as cars go.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanx for the pics!

Seeing the Vette reminds me of a local guy.  This guy has a Vette  like that split window.  He also has several other early vettes and tri-5 Chevys.  All fixed up nice!  The guys a millionaire, maybe a couple times over.  Has many duplexes in town he rents out.  Pretty normal stuff.

Until you see his daily transportation of choice.

A Rusted beat up mid '80s Chevy S10 that looks like it has a million miles on it.   ElCheap-O model with crappy aluminum topper/shell.  2 wheel drive, 4 cylinder 4 speed.  No air,  no grille, no hubcaps.

I'll try to get a pic of it sometime.  By looking at it you'd think it wouldn't run.  :(

I love 'em, but it just blows my mind what it costs to build, what in the old days, they built out of scrap yard parts.

Looks like a great show!

I love the old cars, they're all cool to me. I'm past president and current officer of Wheels That Heal Car Club, you can check our site online. We've raised and donated, as of last week, over $200,000 to needy families, mostly for medical related issues.

The split window as well as the Cord, are milestone cars. But I enjoy seeing the off the wall stuff, too. Like the early Grand Am's (not the front drive 4 cylinders that had the name later). Gremlins, early Eldorado, The Machine, Pontiac 2+2, 7 Litre Ford, stuff you don't see every show.

I'll probably get shot for saying this, but the red thing is kinda ugly and I'm not even going to discuss the yellow thing. I see in the photos that there are some VW's there but yet no close ups :(

Oh well it looks like the one is cut to the ground anyway :boo_hoo:

Thanks for the pictures

I've noticed that half a dozen old dune buggies have been resurrected in my area lately. Last summer there was a kid with a 60s transporter but haven't seen it this year. If you don't like the pics, its just an example of different strokes for different folks. I tend to like them all to some extent. Good Luck, Rick
