I don't know if this is the correct forum or not?

Anyone know what engine this is?  I could not find a tag.

Looks to be a 2-cycle.  Maybe a Lauson?

Don't blame you.  I prefer Canadian Reserve & Squirt.

Was gonna say Jacobson too. Much like little engines on their reel mowers.  Guess that rope starter is built on?  Mechanicals on that might be interesting to see. I recall my neighbor as a kid had a go-kart with this and the clutch drive off a reel mower and it worked pretty good, small as it was.

the "rope" starter is strange, Grumpy.  Not a rope like I'm used to seeing, but a steel woven cable!

Its more than likely a Jake reel mower engine, most times the recoil is broken, but to me it looks correct.

Great engine, enjoy it!;)
