Planet Jr. With Toro Engine

At least that's what I've been told it is. Is it worth saving? I have never seen anything like this before and I didn't know Toro made their own engines until i saw this either. Engine is locked up as is most everything else lol

It is currently being used as a lawn ornament at a house my friend just bought. He called me to come take a look as it was there when he bought the house.

It may not be worth much in it's present state but could be used for parts if nothing else. The brass tag should be on the front mount where it hooks to the engine. If it's there, what is the model?

I'll have to go look again. I couldn't find one the first time I looked.

Motor is out and soaking full of marvel mystery oil for the last three years, gonna restore it some day.  You need to save that, may be the only one still left.

In the second pic it looks like it might be there between the 2 bolts holding the bracket to the engine.

Is that a 2-stroke engine? Seems like lots of fins and deep ones too on the head and cylinder area. Be interesting to take apart and save and see what it is...or was...all about.  This is a free-bee then correct?  Hard to have to buy stuff cause it is "Antique" and not just "Junk-iron" in some peoples minds. Will be an instant Money Pitt and Time Waster...hate to have to pay for that! :smilewink:

If I decide to get it, then it will be a freebie. His exact words were "if you really want to punish yourself then go ahead and take it" so I'm just weighing my options lol

Also don't think it's a 2 stroke. Saw an engine similar on youtube and it was a 4 stroke.

4 stroke for sure. It has the flywheel mag and tin shroud. It will be a little older than this manual but this will still have a lot in common with this engine.  http://gardentractor...-engine-manual/

Thanks! I may just go get this thing and put it inside. Maybe someday I will come across another engine to put on it.
